Saturday Ultra Beast
What is worse than one grueling Beast? Running two laps! The Crew had 5 members take on the NJ Ultra Beast! Richie Hilton (10:16:23) took on the Elite division and went burpee free, pulling 8th place in his Age Group and Top 50 Overall (Top 25%)! In the Open division, Eric Zucaro (11:18:15) earned 4th place in Age Group and 38th Overall (Top 12%). William Teodecki also finished the Ultra Beast. We also want to send out kudos to Jennifer Monaco and Jennifer Motze who were brave enough to tackle the Ultra Beast, but unable to complete their second lap. Fantastic effort, ladies!
In the Elite Beast division, Luke Walsh (4:39:20) pulled Top 15 in Age Group, Brandon Martin (5:02:35) went burpee free, and Bill Everett and Jeff Dearth jumped the fire together (6:50:02).
The Crew OCR official team time (6:29:58) pulled the Top 25% of teams on Saturday. A group of Crew members (7:11:04) helped each other through the course. They varied from first time Spartans to those completing their first Trifectas! Faith Elliott completed her first Beast, Trifecta, rope climb, and 8 ft wall! Shayne MacLean noted noticeable improvement by only failing 2 obstacles and was happy to finally hit the spear throw. Arthur Davis completed his first Spartan Race burpee free! He credits The Crew for giving him motivation to train and prepare for the race. Jake Ammarell completed his first Beast, and Sarah Tyrrell, Cody Himes, and Kyle Campbell all completed their first Spartan Race!
On Sunday, we had a few Crew members brave the cold and rain for a second round on the mountain! Ben Kinsinger (2:57:15) took the first place podium in the Men's Elite division with an impressive run! Tom Spitzer (6:22:45) was happy with his time getting to run solo on the second day. Day 2 was also completed by Richie Hilton (who went burpee free each of his 3 laps over the weekend), Luke Walsh, Katie Purcell, Eric Zucaro, Brandon Martin, Jeff Dearth, and Irene Dobrin.
Other Races this Weekend
Crew members showed up to a few other races this past weekend. Jennifer Wallace ran the 21st Annual Race Against Domestic Violence 5k on Saturday, pulling 2nd place in her age group with a time of 24:02. On Sunday, Jennifer, Ray DiSandro, and Colleen Kampf tackled the Broad Street 10 Miler in the cold rain.
Congratulations to all on a crazy, fun-filled weekend!
