Justin is a self proclaimed nerd in every respect and proud of it. He is a student of movement, of the body, and of the mind. He loves wild people, places, and experiences. He loves to cook and seeks out extraordinary examples of local cuisine when he travels. Additionally, he is always experimenting with information on optimal performance and longevity in sports and in life. Justin loves The Crew because being a member feels like hanging with family. Getting to join The Crew at both races and training sessions throughout the year is a priority to him because of how much fun we have as a group.
Justin is passionate about mid-distance, obstacle-heavy OCR events and ultra distance mountain running. He pursues both passions with equal optimism but, unlike many OCR-endurance junkies, he keeps the idea of ultra-distance efforts separate from his OCR participation.
His professional goal as an SGX Coach is to foster success in other Spartans through education and mutual support. Together with the growing team of providers he aims to create, Justin hopes to eventually develop a higher standard of athlete in the OCR community.
Justin’s athletic goals for 2017 are to train with more consistency, record and quantify his progress to a further extent, and aim for better performances at events. He also intends to podium his first OCR, run his first sub-6 mile, and complete his first 100 kilometer race.
