Eric has been a type 1 diabetic for the last 12.5 years. It has taught him a lot about self control, perseverance, and grit. He found it natural when he fully enveloped himself into the fit lifestyle 5 years ago and fell in love with OCR 4 years ago. Eric considers himself a CrossFitter, Trail & Ultra Runner, and OCR athlete who loves Hawaiian pizza and coconuts. Eric loves any distance over 26.2 miles because he is able to focus on breathing, technique, pace, and make judgement calls as they come. He enjoys the mental make-or-break moments where he finds his true character and pushes through with intensified focus. Eric’s 2017 goals are to focus on quality and longer distance races. He is also looking into CrossFit competitions and a CFL1 coaching certification. He feels these are just stepping stones to improving his overall athleticism and truly discovering what works for him. Eric hopes that every athlete steps out of their comfort zone often and attempts to do the impossible, because they never know how far they can go until they try.
